Who We Are

The Marketing and Communications Office is responsible for promoting Caltech's accomplishments, legacy, and people in the media, online, in Institute publications and development materials, and through other strategic channels. We use communications activities to distinguish the Institute and to create, strengthen, and preserve support of Caltech among key Institute audiences in order to achieve the Institute's development goals.

The resources of the Marketing and Communications team are focused on creating high-leverage content that can be cascaded to multiple audiences across a variety of media platforms by teams in Development and Institute Relations and across the Institute.

News

The News team reports breaking news, and the latest information and events in research and campus life and disseminates them across online, print, broadcast, and social media channels.

Marketing

The Marketing group defines and manages editorial, web, and graphic standards to leverage and strengthen the Institute brand. Marketing partners with Institute teams to develop and execute integrated strategic communications plans that define key audiences, engagement goals, and communication channels and then create content to achieve defined objectives.

Media Relations

The Media Relations team serves as a resource for local, national, and international media organizations, promoting news stories to journalists and offering information, expertise, and resources to raise awareness of the Institute's work. Media Relations also manages and coordinates media briefings for news events, including leading the coverage of major earthquakes at the Seismology Lab.
